Repair of Nikon F80
May 31, 2018CANON
JULIE TANG, citizen of France and on tour of ASIA, dropped her camera Nikon F80(Analog) with 50mm, 1.4 D lens accidentally in river which is very closed to her. It has been with her since she was 9 year old, it’s a gift from her dad. So has very sentimental value to her.
In her words what exactly happened:- “”I was visiting the jungle in Malaysia, and knew there was a hide where to spend the night isolated, but I had to cross the river by myself then. That’s what I did. During the night, monsoon came, and in the morning, the river was way stronger and my feet couldn’t touch the ground anymore, and I drowned, with my camera, bag and everything.””
She was very upset after it has stopped working, she went to couple of shops but couldn’t found any one reliable or they were asking for too much price for repair(only for Lens because camera body can not get repaired after water damage).
So she has posted in a Facebook group about her camera repair where many of my dear friends recommended me. Eventually she came to me today and when I checked her lens and used some little force to move focus ring, it started working. Actually that previous guy used some adhesive and tried to fix the AF RING so she would pay big amount to get it fix. But his luck or intentions couldn’t worked out.
She was very happy to see her lens working. And as you know me guys I didn’t take any money for it. We also had chat about many things .
Attaching two images. One is result of the lens. And one is of the lens.
I will be back with some more experience.
